The Beethoven Hotel is located outwith the city centre, close to the World Trade Center, though the city centre can be easily reached in 20 minutes by tram, which stops outside the hotel. It is housed in a plain 5-storey brick building, which dates from 1928 and has shops at street level. The lobby is simple and functional, with a small seating area and terracotta floor tiles. The adjacent coffee/snack bar doubles as breakfast room. The 52 comfortable medium sized guestrooms are decorated in soothing neutral colours and contain tasteful modern furniture. They are well maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms. A buffet breakfast is served daily and comprises Continental style fayre. Overall this is a good option for a budget traveller, who simply requires a basic base for their visit.
