Great location, great breakfast, rooms etc very clean if a little smaller than we expected. Would have been nice to have some leisure facilities but with all the walking to be done in amsterdam a gym is probably not needed.

Great base for visiting all areas of Amsterdam - we went to Van Gogh museum, House of Bols, Amsterdam dungeon, Rembrandt Square, Dam Square etc

The hotel was very good and in a great location. I'm considering travelling for personal reason some time in the future however. We had a standard room which had loads of space, there was a desk area and a seating area in addition to the usual bed and wardrope. The bathroom was large with a full size bath with a shower over it, 2 sinks.

My 5th time to stay in this hotel - the location cannot be beaten and the staff are brilliant. The only downside this time was the room - it was the smallest I've stayed in at this hotel.
Top Tip
Brilliant Italian restaurant - Pizzerie Romana - we're still working our way through the menu! Walk by the flower markets, take the first left then right, it's about 100 metres or so on the right.

I had confirmed reservations however upon arrival I found my reservations had been canceled. Desk clerk told me he didn't understand why but they were booked up and did not have a room for me. Jolly Carlton said they had made reservations and had given me an upgrade for me at another H hotel. When I arrived they said they had no rooms. I explained the situation and indicated JC hotel had talked to their clerk and everuything was all set for me when I arrived. Later the second hotle found a document that was sent to them the MORNING of my arrival and it showed JC hotel had cancelled my room and transferred me over that morning beofre I arrived and not the evening of my arrival. I was given single room resrevaed for someone else. Also a man ahead of me got a room with an up grade to as suite for 3 days and paid less than I did who had reservations. Clerks were friendly but not truthful or honest. I appears the hotel chain is more concerned about making money and filling rooms so they over book and it's a first come first serve basis regarless if one has confirmed reservations.
Top Tip
Don't bank on having a room even with confirmed reservations.
