The Albus Grand Hotel is housed in a modern building, which has none the less been graciously styled to blend in with the surrounding architecture of Old Amsterdam. The medium sized lobby is fairly deluxe for a superior tourist class hotel. It features a marble floor, blue wicker furniture with yellow cushions, an iron chandelier and contemporary paintings from the owners\' collection. More of these paintings are on display in the 74 sound proofed guestrooms, which vary in size from medium to large. They are in very good condition, with brightly coloured bedding and curtains to off set the beige and cream walls and carpets and pale wood furniture. The hotel offers a rich Continental buffet every morning in the stylish breakfast room, which is located on the lower ground floor but has skylights to make it bright and airy. The buffet comprises Dutch specialities as well as more run-of-the-mill fare.
