Renovated in 2002 and re-opened in 2003, the A-Train Hotel is housed in a traditional Dutch building, which blends in well with the surrounding architecture. The décor throughout the interior displays a "golden age of rail travel" theme. Though small and narrow, the lobby features an attractive mahogany effect reception desk with clocks above it set to different time zones. There are also slightly kitsch train tracks painted on the floor, leading to the cafe/breakfast room. The 32 guestrooms vary in size from small to medium, due to the age of the building. They are simply but pleasingly decorated, with rose wood effect furniture and rose and gold bedspreads, well co-ordinated with the blue curtains. The bathrooms have showers only, but they are in excellent condition and are attractively appointed with granite floors. The hotel’s Pullman lounge is, as its name suggests, designed in the style of a train restaurant. It has banquettes for tables, as well as green upholstered seats, luggage racks and pictures of trains on the walls. Here guests can enjoy a Dutch buffet breakfast and, later in the day, relax with a drink and a snack.
