The France Hotel is housed in a traditional, canal front, whitewashed building, which is in keeping with the surrounding architecture. The split-level lobby is medium sized with plenty of seating, an open fire and a small television area. Recently refurbished, the 54 guestrooms have simple neutral decor with wood furniture and warm coloured fabrics. The quad rooms, however, are located in the basement and do not have any windows or natural light. The hotel offers a rich Continental buffet every morning in the long, narrow breakfast room, which is receives no natural light but is brightly decorated.
