Hotel was well kept and staff were more than helpful with any enquiries that visitors may have. They were also were able to give advice as to where to go at night. 5 minutes away is dam square. The hotel is only a few minutes away from the central train station

Plenty to do. also beside the hotel are a few resturants and pubs. 5 minutes away is dam square and full of things to see as well as madame Tussad's

very disappointed with this hotel.staff were rude and unprofessional eg smoking at reception,annoyed when we asked for juice and breads to be replaced at breakfast as empty.lots of health and safety hazards eg ripped carpets on stairs,absent electrical fittings in room.decor very poor-evident damp and associated smell.not as portrayed on internet site at all.after checking with reception alerted to a notice that after 15mins in the room hotel would refuse to reallocate.also sign displayed saying after check out they will hold luggage but cannot guarantee its safety.when we inquired re taxis etc staff of little help-a dismissive wave and advised to cross the street.no hairdryer in room.room not clean.stains on sheets.travelling with elderly mother and risks on stairs and floors of concern.lock on bedroom door loose and flimsy.this hotel would not be suitable for elderly ,those with children or anyone who requires basic standards of cleanliness and service.

excursion to vollendam,clog and cheese factory great.flea market on albert cupyt straat not to be missed.oriental city chinese offers excellent service as do rene's croissanterie on damstraat.
