The Best Western Lancaster Hotel is housed in a traditional, turn-of-the-20th century property with an adjoining brick annexe. In stark contrast to the exterior, the medium sized lobby is appointed in a very modern style, with a circular steel and wood reception desk and steel and wicker chairs. The lounge area features a fireplace and vending machines. The 92 guestrooms vary in size from small to medium. All have a relaxing beige and terracotta colour scheme, plus a desk and an attractive leather chair. The rooms are in very good condition, as are the bathrooms, which are simply decorated with white tiling and are kept sparkling clean. A long maze of corridors leads to the basement breakfast room, which has no natural light but is bright and welcoming.
