The Hotel is across the road from Central Station.
Very nice Hotel BUT the cooked breakfast is awful,ie,cold and greasy . . .it must get this right. We found old cigarette butts in the bottom of the window frame when the window was opened.
Top Tip
Try an Itallian restaurant round the corner from Hotel called Savini AND also great steak and salad a couple of doors down.
Enjoyed 3 hour guided cycle tour of Amsterdam best way to see the city.
Candlelit canal trip is a must,so much more to see at night
Go early to visit Anne Frank house or you join big,big queues

Could not be handier for the station to get in/out of Amsterdam, out the station & look up & you will see the sign. Breakfast gave an excellent & very wide choice, buffet style. Staff all spoke so many languages fluently. Pool was excellent for a dip - no serious swim, but very refreshing.

Look at the money off vouchers in the magazine in your room before booking anything. Hop on hop off water bus gives a basic commentary, so unless your are really keen no need to take the canal cruises. Local shops do not all take credit cards - niether do the trains. You need cash. We found the portions too large & ordered 2 meals between 3 & still struggled to finish. Only negative is that water with your meal cost a fortune - stick to beer!
We could use the hop-on-off water bus or walk to most of the sites (furthest 35 mins away) just watch out for the bikes - they have right of way over EVERYTHING & view tourists as good targets!
Whatever food you are after it is nearby - just ask the hotel staff

Ideal location facing centraal train station and really close to shops and bars. Easy walking distance from Anne Frank's house and Heineken brewery. Pool bit hard to find but staff really helpful.
